The Swing
Oh! do you like to go up in the swing
Up in the sky so blue
I do think it the pleasantist thing
Ever a child can do
Up in the swing and over the wall
Until I can see so wide
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside
Till I look down on the garden green
Down on the roof so brown
Up in the air I go flying again
Up in the air and down
by Robert Lewis Stevenson
AS Remembered by this 75 year old mother of 4, grandmother of 8.
4 of us had a nice long walk around the island, (with a stop at the swing...) there was some kayak action, and clean up and the book club left this afternoon on a beautiful day, leaving wonderful memories and great leftovers!
Most of that green stuff in the field with the swing is Scots Broom!
