View from the balcony

We got up late after our late night last night and chilled on the balcony with a cup of tea, admiring the view. We also had a leisurely breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. It was already too hot to eat on the balcony. Today was to peak at 31 degrees! 

We had been planning a sightseeing walk around London but it was far too hot for that. We thought it better to be underground so we opted for a shopping trip to the malls underneath Canary Wharf. Orla was in need of some summer clothes. It was a successful trip, Orla’s favourite purchase was a pair of jeans from Circle Collective.

By the time we ran out of shopping energy it was 3pm. Given the heat it was appropriate to have a late lunch/early dinner in a Greek restaurant ‘Tas’ on the South Dock. We had meze and a bottle of Chenin Blanc and a very relaxed Sunday afternoon. The evening was also very relaxed back at the apartment - we watched ‘Ladybird’ and Elton John’s last performance at Glastonbury.
