Football's coming home. Again.

Last summer a mural was painted on this wall to celebrate the victory of the England women's football team in the European Cup.  The subject of the mural - and captain of the team - grew up in the town.

In May of this year, someone decided to 'tidy up' the wall (their words, apparently) and painted over it. Completely.  Whitewashed the whole thing.

There was a public outcry and money was raised to commission a new art work.  And here it is, finished a few weeks ago.
