La Llantada
"La Llantada" appears to mean, according to the Royal Academy of Spanish, either "the deflated tyre" or "the female who is annoyed". Neither of them seems to make much sense as the name of a cattle farm, but of course there could have been an angry woman down there, or a punctured tyre, before the farm was established.
Whatever the origins, La Llantada is a small cattle farm in Cabranes, between the town and the river. It's never appeared to be affluent, and since the early death of the farmer a few years ago it's now visibly distressed. His sister now lives there but not to farm it.
This is a view of the wooden extensions, not of the farmhouse itself, which run north-eastwards down the hill towards the river. The extensions house farm equipment and materials. I should have included the farmhouse but I prefer the photo without it.
