Loch Maree from Ruadh-stac Beag
Over to Torridon today with D+M and did Ruadh-stac Beag from the Beinn Eighe visitor centre. The Cambrain quartzite makes the landscape look like the moon and D couldn't manage the quartzite blocks that guard the final few hundred feet to the top, so M and I took turns to sit with him and went to the top separately. This blip is looking down over Loch Maree from the top of Ruadh-stac Beag, with quartzite rubble in the foreground. The quartzite is metamorphosed sandstone with lots of fossil worm burrows in it --- called "pipe rock".
