The Falkirk Wheel

B was golfing in Falkirk today, so I ventured to find the Falkirk Wheel, which I only vaguely knew about from road signs.  The wheel itself transports boats from the Forth and Clyde canal to the Union canal 35 metres above, by lifting them or lowering them in the arms of the wheel.  It replaced a flight of 11 locks which used to connect the two canals. It's been made into a "tourist attraction" by a children's activity playground, a large tea-room, a gift shop, and other touristical things
