Day 25 - Notre-Dame Cathedral, Strasbourg
This morning we went on a guided tour of Strasbourg which included a visit to Notre-Dame Cathedral. The cathedral houses the well known astronomic clock but I decided to blip the huge stain glass window above the cathedral entrance. I suggest it will be better viewed LARGE.
The cathedral contains a multitude of beautiful windows, all of which we removed prior to WW II, and replaced after the war ended.
The cathedral towers over the city and is a gothic masterpiece. For many centuries it had the highest spire in Europe. Building commenced late in the 12th century taking around 250 years to complete.
