LAST ROSE OF SUMMER?

These last two roses were picked before the rain and cold weather set in. One is the popular yellow Graham Thomas rose and the other grew from a slip taken from roses growing wild in a field nearby, more than twenty years ago. I have not been able to identify these deep pink roses but they are probably Heritage Roses and have the most heavenly fragrance.
I decided to photograph the roses on the windowsill of one of the cottage bedrooms and as I turned the glass vase to get a better angle the petals fell!
Well if this marks the last of Summer the comforting thought is that the Winter Solstice is just around the corner and then it is down hill to Summer again!
