Day out at Portsmouth Historic Docks.

Meeting another ex-work friend. I do like this place - lots to see. This time we visited a new attraction - Explosion! Naval Firepower Museum, a nice boat trip across the bay to Gosport. Guns and warfare are not my thing, but the lives of those who worked on the site at Priddy's Hard were fascinating. Hence the little histories in the lockers. They worked on making ammunition, a dangerous job, and repair work. See 3rd extra.


The other two extras are of the HMS Queen Elizabeth, (the first one) a massive aircraft carrier.   This dominates the port.

Another new development in the Dockyard is the 3D cinema showing the raising of the Mary Rose.
