Take the Long Way Home...
Well by the time D got the garden furniture built yesterday evening, the clouds had thickened, the temp had dropped but by heavens we were determined to try it out. So there we were at 9.30pm, jumpers on, mugs of coffee to hand, sitting on the new furniture getting eaten alive by midges. All good fun though.
Today has been sunny and I met friends J & F for coffee at Gloagburn at 10.00am. This turned into bacon rolls as well as coffee the another coffee and a sweet thing, which meant we were still sitting there blethering at 1.00pm!
Had a wander round the farm shop. So many tempting things to buy but I resisted them all (including the GIANT strawberry tarts) and just bought some butcher meat, veggies to make soup and bird seed.
As it was such a lovely afternoon I came home the long way via all the back roads. The scenery is simply breathtaking. Sadly on the winding country roads there aren't many places to stop but when I reached THIS straight bit, I couldn't resist. There are lots of tiny little churches tucked away en-route though so I must investigate them at some point. Great blip material.
Home now, Alan's just about to have his dinner then I will make chicken & pasta in a tomato and chilli sauce which, all being well, we will eat in the garden whilst sitting at our new table. There may even be a glass of wine sipped. Well we need to toast the new furniture don't we? ;)
My blip title gave me the excuse to link on of my all time favourite songs :))
Hope the sun is shining where you are xx
