Lilac

When my Father was alive, he was the church elder living closest to the village church. So he used to go along early on Sunday to turn on the heating and check all was ready. Sometimes the person whose turn it was to put flowers in had forgotten. He would run home and get some from the garden, but if it was lilac time this bush at the back of the church was raided We always knew if it was lilac that the flowers had been forgotten .It was looking lovely today when we passed
