"The Poetry Of Earth Is Never Dead"
Summer has truly arrived! I spotted my first grasshopper of the season today and am delighted that they are here as I love photographing them.
This is a first instar nymph of the common field grasshopper. They are tiny little things and similar to adults but without wings. I found them in exactly the same place as I found my first last year.
I have togged them many times side on against the grass as it is the best way to get all the detail in focus. This time I decided to go for something a bit different. This is a worm's eye view against the sky. It was quite windy and I love the way the waving blades have created a pretty lilac blur. :)
