Difficult Day

My sister and I visited our Dad in hospital today to try and persuade him to try hormone therapy for prostrate cancer.The treatment was suggested yesterday but he didn't want it.Today his condition had worsened dramatically and the doctors thought we had now passed the point of treatment.
We had a long and at times very tearful discussion with the doctors.The plan now is to get him moved into a hospice as soon as possible and to give him something to relieve the stress and anxiety he is feeling.

I have no idea what the statue is.It is in one of  the local health food shops.
