Hills of home!
A sunny and hot morning on the way up to the hillside lochans. There were good views to the Cairngorms, but some cloud over there. There were thistles everywhere, both Scots Woolly and Field, so looking and smelling good. Of course, they were covered in Goldfinches, Tortoiseshell and Fritillaries, with the occasional Meadow Brown and Small Heath and Crossbill. Very enjoyable!
Later, found the first Andrena marginata, Small Scabious mining bee behind the house. Not a GYB but equally as rare and good to find!
