Roundhouse

On the way home from Buxton, we spent an hour or so at the David Mellor Design Centre, having a delicious brunch and buying some knives. DM's cutlery is made in this superb circular building, which won numerous architectural awards.  His design work extended way beyond household goods. In the 1960s he redesigned the standard form of traffic lights used in the UK - hence the prominent example in the design museum and cafe.
