A colourful visitor

This moth has been attached to the patio door most of today. It's still there as I post this blip. It's very strikingly patterned but completely different in colour from the top side to the underside. I'm assuming it's a moth rather than a butterfly and am hoping that a blipper will be able to identify the particular species.
