Failed

Plan A: Get a capture of a bee visiting Himalayan Balsam.
Positive:  One plant was much higher than the rest and stood out well against the dark woodland behind.
Negative:  The bees were only visiting the lower blooms amongst all the other stems and flowers.  All very messy.

Plan B:  Take separate images of the flower and of a bee against a dark background and combine them on the computer.
Positive:  The flower stood out well against the black.
Negative:  The bees wouldn't cooperate and always kept low, so none were isolated against black.

Oh well. there's always another day.
In the meantime, here's the easy part of Plan B.
