What A Pair

I thought they looked bigger than the usual birds I see in this tree and on closer inspection I discovered not one but two green herons. They look to be juveniles, possibly siblings.

As with most birds that alight in these bare branches, this pair were preening in the light of the setting sun. Maybe it's a safety thing or perhaps they like the warm sunlight.

Anyway, I liked the pose of the one on the right.
