Family photo shoot
This morning I made treacle scones, garlic with cheese scones and a carrot and walnut cake for the family arriving this afternoon.
Months ago Dennis, our Suffolk friend, asked to come to stay at this time, so it was arranged the whole family would come to see him. Most years he’s taken a family photo of us all when he visits but this time, after the family arranged time off, he had a better offer and excused himself to go with other friends to Pembrokeshire. So Mr C got going with the step-ladder, clamp and camera to do one of us all on timer. This was partially successful. It would have been better if the camera had been on a higher step as 6ft 7in Phil towered over us even more.
For my Blip I chose the photo I took of the children, high on cake. James and Thomas have very blue eyes which stand out even more with the sweatshirts. Nathaniel and Ella have brown eyes. He’s thinking of getting his hair cut as it would have to be in a topknot or something complicated for him to manage for starting middle school.
The boys loved their sailing on Ullswater though James and his dad got so cold they jumped ship early. Thomas and #2 daughter were also very chilly but stuck it out with Thomas at the tiller. He wants to go again but it’s very expensive. Staying in the van was a great success.
