Butterfly on Scabiosa

I'm not sure of the identity of the butterfly, so help would be appreciated please.The heavy rain in advance of the next storm has just arrived  (19.30 hrs )  with very strong winds forecast from early tomorrow. It sounded like an October prediction.
Today Grandson T came for a visit before he moves to Surrey next week to take up his first job since graduating  from Uni a few weeks ago, and naturally it was good to spend a few hours in his company.
