The Prophet and the Idiot

I bought and finished this book whilst i was away for a few days. It was a good read on the long train journeys.
Written by the author of bestselling 'The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out Of The Window And Disappeared', this was an enchanting story. The main characters are Johan, chef extrordinaire, who has been taken for a fool and left to fend for himself after being deserted by his greedy, bully of a brother.
Johan, by means of an awkward accident, meets Petra, who has calculated when the world is going to end and, since the end is apparently nigh, the pair head off to settle some scores, meeting the eccentric 75 year-old Agnes along the way.
The trio get up to all sorts of mischief and find themselves in all sorts of crazy situations but they have to deal with some downfalls too. You can bet that between them, they will have a way out of all the scrapes they find themselves in.
I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read more of Jonas Jonasson's work.
