Carpet …

… of dead leaves, close to our back entry. It has been there for quite a while. It consists of cuttings of sizable shrubs which had grown up in that small space.

We got up in the middle of the night to watch the US women’s soccer team play Portugal in the Women’s World Cup. They ended in a tie 0-0, but the US did just make it into the round of 16 which follows.
