Crichton Castle

Were walking today as a recce for our club, near Gorebridge. The weather was warm and sunny and we had some wonderful long views of Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh Castle and the spires of the churches inEdinburgh, and all the way down to Leith and the Forth. We passed Crichton Castle in our travels, and it looked so stunning in the sun with the gorse setting it off, I decided this would be my blip. We walked ten miles, and it was wonderful in the sunshine, although we were tired at the end of it.

Crichton Castle is situated at the head of the River Tyne, near the village of the same name. It lies two miles south of the village of Pathhead, and the same distance east of Gorebridge. A mile to the south-west is Borthwick Castle which we also passed today.

Had a lovely pub stop after the walk, as usual, and lingered in the sun so long that we were not home till 8pm.
