Researching the Past
Much time has been spent over the years researching how the owners of Wimpole Hall and its estate lived. Many were titled owners, some lost a lot of money, others had ideas about making exciting changes to the estate and carried them out. The last owners were Mr and Mrs Bambridge. Elsie Bambridge was the daughter of Rudyard Kipling. She was his main inheritor as her siblings had died at young ages. She died in 1970s passing the Wimpole Estate on to the National Trust.
This heavy file of research about The Bambridge Years is so interesting. Volunteers can bring a file at a time home to read. They are easy to read and fascinating. This is my second one. The only problem is they are heavy to carry to and from the carpark! Excuse very dark image...done in a hurry!
