Is Punk Back?

Another afternoon where the weather was much nicer than forecast, with lots of sun and a bit of wind - perfect for drying my washing. I took the opportunity to look for butterflies and birds in the garden, and there were quite a few around, even a dragonfly although it refused to perch for me. I'm assuming the blue tit in the top photo is in moult. Lots of blue tit fledglings around, I wonder if a pair have had a second brood. There was also a flurry of visits by the long tailed tits, they always make me smile. I walked into town this morning, did the washing and cleaned the hard floors this afternoon - too tired to do more gardening.

Covid Update
The BBC is reporting that researchers have found that the nose is a main route for coronavirus to get into the body. They've warned that healthcare workers who pick their nose are more likely to get Covid and should be made aware of the infection risk. They also found that having a beard or wearing glasses did not increase the risk of getting Covid despite the potential impact on mask fitting.

The MP Margaret Ferrier has lost her seat after a recall petition vote by constituents. In 2020 the then SNP MP travelled to London and spoke in the Commons whilst awaiting a Covid test result, then travelled home by train after receiving a positive result. Well done those constituents.

Symptoms reported under the Zoe symptom app and big increases of sales of Covid tests imply that cases of Covid might be rising, particularly in the South West. There has also been a small increase in people admitted to hospital with Covid. Waning immunity is thought to be playing a part.
