Summer's Day (till evening)
At last we've had a day of warm sunshine and blue sky. Still had to panic to pack up gardening tools when it suddenly rained early evening, but the day did bring out the butterflies earlier.
On - or approaching - what flowers are left on the buddleia, from top right to bottom left, are a small tortoiseshell, a peacock, and a red admiral. I also saw lots of large and small whites and, in the morning, a bright yellow brimstone was fluttering around the phlox.
Did the ironing and added a few last touches to little Miss B's toy zoo. She's having prezzies tomorrow, a day early, as it's her party on Saturday and her ma and pa thought it would be too much all on one day, which I think is a wise decision.
There's one thing to recommend the weather this summer; we don't need to water the garden.
