Dashing

While scanning the trees for resting hummers I found two blue dashers hanging from tree limbs. I’ve never seen this before and wanted to share :) Hopefully I’ve id’d correctly? • It’s very windy today as another front is approaching bringing more heavy rain and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow. Have I told you how tired we are of rain this spring and summer? Enough already!! • Garden updates: we have two small zucchinis growing, the first sign of life since we planted in May; I counted two monarch cats today. Were the other four hiding? Two ripe cherry tomatoes were picked, our first. Hard to believe we only have a handful left to ripen. The plants are a third of the size they should be. A black butterfly fluttered in the distance in our neighbor’s yard, too far away to id. A cloudless sulphur butterfly may have been seen too :) Oh, the flying shrimp stopped by again! • Hope you’ve had some pleasant surprises in your day too :)
