A Glimpse Of Charity, London
Not much to report, really. One of those so so weeks that's neither great or terrible, just bang average in every way possible. Today's image is of the window of the Salvation Army charity shop a short walk from work. I rather liked it's strange alchemy of soft and sharp overlayed with reflections of the building opposite.
My brother had bad news about his car - the catalytic converter has gone and needs replaced and because of a possible delay with a replacement it may be a couple of weeks, and a big bill, before he gets it back. It's a rather large kick in the boll*cks to say the least.
Yet another indictment for Trump and judging by the reports he's in a whole lot of shit but still a massive number of Republicans lionise him. On the Americast podcast on BBC Sounds James Comey, the former head of the FBI, made a very cogent point. He said many of his supporters are so deep in to the lies and have so much invested in the charlatan that they just can't, or won't, admit they have been taken for fools. They have almost doubled down on it all because the alternative, that their "saviour" is anything but, is just too painful to contemplate. It really is McCarthyism all over again but even more deranged if that's possible. What I've never understood is why they never got his rampant insincerity because he reeks of it and has done from the very start. Madness.
