Brooding skies over St. Andrews

On a whim, I decided to go to St. Andrews for the day as the end of the holidays is fast approaching. When she heard my plan, my friend decided to come along too and we had a lovely day walking the length of the West Sands, wandering around the lovely little shops and having lunch in a super wee cafe. The weather was remarkably mild given the proximity to the water and the brooding skies that threatened rain, but thankfully didn't deliver.  A very successful and enjoyable whim!
