Exhausting, satisfying work

Another work party to clear Himalayan Balsam.  This gentleman cleared a large area using his scythe, the rest of us just enjoyed pulling the plants up by the roots, wringing the stems (which make a satisfying squeaky sort of noise) then piling them up on the banks of the stream.  Until the work parties started on this site the balsam was so dense that no-one was quite certain exactly where the stream was.  Slow progress, but we seem to be winning on the River Kent!
