Steaming in situ

This is plank 8. There is a lot of twist and bend required at both ends. It has been attached in the middle and here the forward end is having steam applied in a make-shift sauna to make the wood pliable. The workers have gone for their meal break in the shed next door. When they return the steam jacket will be removed and the plank forced into place.
After this the planks will become narrower and there will be less bend and twist so steaming won't be so necessary.
