The end of the armadillo ...

....And beginning of a feast. I'm not a disturbed or troubled person however, these creatures give people the creeps and at times I like to point out their importance on earth. Unfortunately when you see them its not a pretty sight! Armadillos don't stand a chance on the roads here - too bad!

On any given day of the year, if you look up into the skies over here you are likely to see these great birds soaring, sailing and effortlessly gliding. So common and yet so distant, so familiar and yet so misunderstood, vultures are among nature's most remarkable creatures and play an essential role in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Vultures are not predators.
Principally they are carrion feeders, scavengers. Were they not here to "recycle" those dead animals, the decomposing carcasses would spawn bacteria and disease that would endanger not only wildlife but people as well.
I wonder if these were pretty birds if they would be appreciated more?
