Out for lunch
Today we went out for lunch. We met our friend Kay at the 'Stable Bar'. Because it wasn't raining it's been rain free for two days now, yay!, Ann said that she would walk and I could go with her. It takes over an hour to walk to the Stable Bar via the Hermitage and Braid Hills and over an hour to walk back via the 'secret path' which is in between the Buckstone Estate & Mortonhall Golf Course, but isn't very secret anymore because everyone started walking along it during lock down and Braidburn Valley Park. We walked for almost 7 miles. And the best thing about this walk................ I found the mankiest, most horrible ball in Braidburn Valley Park. The grass had just been cut and it was covered in grass cuttings, but I didn't care. I picked it up and carried it all the way home. And then because I was so tired, I only 'guarded' it for about 10 mins, then I left it lying on the rug while I went into my bed for a snooze. Ann was lying on the sofa, having a snooze, but she was alert enough to pick it up and throw it into my 'manky old balls box'. Yay!
I was a very good girl in the 'Stable Bar'. I mostly just lay down in 'good dog' mode under the table. …..Well I did until Kay had finished her scampi & chips. Kay didn't eat her peas so she started feeding them to me. Peas are very nice. I like peas. Mmmmmm.................. after Kay had fed me a load of peas, Ann told her she wasn't to give me anymore. I don't know why? Peas are one of my 'five a day'.
I asked for early dinner tonight because walking almost 7 miles had made me hungry. Dinner all gobbled up, but I was still hungry so Ann gave me half a carrot. I'm back in snooze mode now.
I've had a lovely day out.
