Ripening Apples
Storm Antoni duly arrived this morning and there has hardly been a period of the day when it has stopped raining.
I spent much of the morning transferring data from an old iPhone to a more up to date device for my mother-in-law. At the same time I've simplified the screen and apps and added shortcuts on the home screen so she has icons to call or text L and her sister. Sadly her memory is failing her more and more and even tasks she would do with ease in the past now present a challenge.
Modern technology is challenging in its complexity for some people, but there seems to be little advice out there on adapting them to make them easier and simpler for people to use. Equally there are only limited options to buy a phone that caters for people with dementia and the like. We'll have to see how it goes.
Despite the windy conditions the apples remain in the tree. They certainly look to be ripening, which seems really early this year.
