The Yantra River
I was spoilt for choice today on which photo to upload which is unusual. I decided on this rather peaceful picture of the Yantra river. It is the largest tributary of the Danube I believe.
It was taken in Veliko Tarnovo today as we took a walk around the old town. It’s beautiful here. There is so much history. I think it’s far better than some of the more famous historical cities I’ve visited before. Athens is a prime example of that. I wouldn’t ever go back there!
We spent the morning relaxing. We have coloured, played board games, listened to music and basically enjoyed not having to do anything.
I had the best shower I’ve had in days last night and feel clean! We’ve had two proper meals now which is good. Pizza last night and today I made pasta, shopska salad and spicy chicken. It was pretty good.
This evening we took a walk out, it had been raining most of the day so we couldn’t go out before. We saw some stunning churches, one with a golden dome on it. We’ve figured out where we plan to go exploring tomorrow as well which is good. I think we will be out most of the day.
A much more positive day. It’s amazing what a good night sleep, a hot meal and a shower can do for your mood!
