Inspired by a grade 2 listed building.
Built in 1896, this handsome building is now part of Salford University, housing the school of Environment and Life sciences. Like many Victorian Manchester buildings, it’s facade is constructed of red Accrington bricks. Having survived the pollution of the industrial revolution, it must have looked much less handsome during the first half of the 20th century. I wonder when it was cleaned?
