Emerging?

When I first spotted this fellow, I assumed that it had been sheltering from yesterday's rain and was still warming up in the morning sun. It was only after I had a good look at the image that I realised there was another insect there as well.  I couldn't get a proper look without disturbing the pair and in fact the cricket started to crawl off anyway, leaving the transparent insect behind. 

Even closer inspection on the laptop at this and a few other images, along with a bit of googling leads to me suspect that this cricket has just moulted and the insect might be it's skin?  It seems rather small to me, but it seems to be about the right shape.  Any ideas out there?
