Fringeworthy

A great day at Fringe by the Sea in North Berwick. We'd been to see a couple of things a few years ago, but the whole thing has really grown.

Saw Maggie O'Farrell in the morning, in conversation about her latest book. Had to like the way the marquee was decorated. And the way she was distracted by spotting her history teacher in the audience. 

Later on we ate at The Rocketeer restaurant, watching the world through its big picture windows. Afterwards, strolling round the harbour, we bumped into Family Scobes who were doing the same thing. 

In the evening we saw Dylan Moran (and a bunch of supporting comedians) in the big top. I don't know how he does it: he doesn't really tell jokes, but his dark and surreal ramblings had me gasping for breath.
