Tystie

A black guillemot, or tystie, at Rerwick. A beautiful day for a cycle (in shorts!) out to Tankerness and its north-east headland at Rerwick. The sea was very calm and I scanned in vain for dolphins etc. There have been a lot of sightings in Orkney waters over the last week or two of orcas, Risso's dolphins, minke whales and harbour porpoises. The extra shows more tysties, one of which is showing more white as it changes into winter plumage.
