House of Fun

Had a great weekend with a group of women aged from 30 right up to me and l was the oldest by far.
We stayed at a house north of Northallerton to surprise our friend Lisa for her 50th birthday ( her birthday was actually in May) she’s had a tough year with two big operations so she deserved a lovely treat.
The house was decorated in the weirdest bonkers style but fabulous at the same time.
We had a hot tub where just after the photo in extras it’s was raining stair rods!, cinema room and games room ( with a pool table, pinball machine and electric massage chair).
Every which way you looked you saw another over the top kitsch ornament or decoration, included my bedroom in extras to give you an idea!
Lots of games and dancing, all of us just letting our hair down.

The younger members of the party did all the shopping and catering and they did us proud cooking from scratch for every meal including a steak dinner, afternoon tea with scones straight out of the oven and lemon posset whipped up before our eyes.
We had a masseur come for all day Sunday and l had a neck, shoulders and back massage which was wonderful and relaxing.
This morning we had one last dip in the hot tub then packed up for home.
Six of us stopped over in Northallerton for coffee at Betty’s and a quick look in Barkers the department store there where purchases were made in the shoe and swimwear department but not by me.

Really need to get the grass cut while l can , l’m away again from Thursday.
