Goodbye

This is the old Wichita General Hospital which has been replaced, and is now being demolished. It is the hospital where this little guy was born. In fact, the top of that bit that is being pulled down in the pic, is just about where our window was for a whole day...with a fabulous view of the freeway :0)

The city offered a free brick yesterday to anyone who wanted to keep a piece of history, and he wanted his brick, so we headed into town where a nice man was handing them out through the car window as you drove by. Drive-thru momento's LOL

After he got his brick we pulled around to the other side to park and get this shot of him and his brick beside the demolition - of course today, the weather decided would be a good day to get up to a cool 100, so we were all roasting and trying to snap the pic as quick as we could.

Then he insisted I drive all the way around the building before we left. I think he actually felt a little sad that 'his hospital' was being knocked down. We always point it out as we pass by on the free-way so he has a connection to the big white building :0(

The kids spent the ride home discussing how we should buy the semi-demolished building as it would make the most awesome paint ball playground :0)
