Southampton's Great Liners

Miserable out, cool and drizzly. What's new. So decided, before the weather heats up (if it does), we'd go to Southampton.

Strike affected some trains. We ended up on a train going the wrong way, as that train usually uses the opposite platform. So got off at Branksome and took a bus back to the station!

Didn't really feel like shopping, so we walked to the SOUTHAMPTON HARBOUR hotel and ended up having a light lunch in the Harbar (roof top with nice views over the Marina). We had starters and desserts. Enjoyed it. Efficient and friendly service, and good menu.

Walked back to the station hoping to catch a view of some cruise ships, but they were all sea! Took a photo of the 2 murals on a block of flats. They 'lift' an otherwise sad building.

Early night, shattered after 14,000 steps today.
