Tree Carving
A trip to Wallington today - a National Trust property in Northumberland. This is where we saw these beautiful carvings on a tree trunk. Following Storm Arwen which happened in November 2021, many trees were damaged at Wallington.
Barbour (makers of the iconic wax jacket and a North East firm) donated money to Wallington and other North East National Trust properties to help them repair and rebuild after the devastation of the storm.
This carving was made from one of the trees that was felled in the storm and depicts the weather. It was named Elementree by its creator Tommy Craggs and was carved using only chainsaws in the exact spot where it fell. The carving is of the highest standard and is simply beautiful.
