Family History
We went to Mass today and during the little social afterwards Mrs B got talking to this gentleman because he had a Royal Air Force T shirt on last week. He had done his National Service with the RAF, but more importantly he came from this town (Beaminster), where Mrs B's father and grandfather had grown up. And he had been friends with Mrs B's late father, John Hussey, at school.
"I know John 'Uzzy!"
It was a wonderful moment; we had assumed that all friends and relatives were dead by now. It was a pleasure for Mrs B to hear the local accent, familiar from time with her grandparents, long ago.
