Eda at the Settle Flowerpot Festival
Another sunny and increasingly warm day!
We started with our prebooked trip on the Embsay to Bolton Abbey steam railway.
She enjoyed it and we had hoped to enjoy a coffee and an ice cream at the Bolton Abbey end but though the shop was open the cafe wasn’t.
Eda enjoyed the train and took up my camera taking shots of both Chris and I and a selfie!
Back at Embsay the cafe was open but the shop was closed I suppose volunteer staff mid week are a bit short.
We got our coffees and ice cream and took them out to the station garden and had our lunch picnic there.
After we headed up the road to Settle and the annual Summer Flowerpot festival.
Eda spotted the Bee first outside the church and then the cattle heads over the church wall. She loved the Highland coo.
We did about an hour and a half walking around the central area of Settle. Other faves were Mary Poppins, a unicorn above the Shambles, Postman Pat and his black and white cat Jess, and Bluey and his family. We went up to the lovely station and I thought the Trainosaurus Rex was fun.
There was an aquarium of flowerpot jelly fish which caught Eda’s imagination too so we might be having a go at making one of those! A few more with Eda in the extra collage.
Another splendid day out in the Yorkshire Dales.
