Exploring

It was a day of exploring today, as we set off with Ruth into the Western isles. We stopped at a scenic little spot called Butter Bridge for a bit, then headed to Inveraray for a bit of lunch.

We meandered down Loch Fyne, with a long stop at Ardrishaig Sea lock, watching some boats coming down the last few locks and swing bridge.

We carried on down Loch Fyne as far as Tarbert, stopping to admire the views on the way. Tarbert was a beautiful little harbour village, which we failed to admire for long because we’d last minute decided to take the ferry. We bought the tickets and polled on second last within minutes of the decision.

From Portavadie ferry terminal, we headed back north with a stop at Tighnabruaich viewpoint (where the blip is). It looks out over Bute and surrounding waters.

A lovely road trip with great company. We came home to an asparagus risotto and lots of chat with the group.
