Almost Deserted

The station has recently undergone some refurbishment. This included moving the ticket office into the main station concourse. It is now in the glass office on the right of the concourse. No doubt it will soon be closed.

There is now quite a lot of empty space within the station building. As some of this space is included in the refurbishment I presume the intention is (or was) to rent it out for retail of some sort. There is no indication of any takers.

Looking as the almost deserted concourse at about 11:00 am this morning, the lack of footfall is unlikely to be attractive to any interested parties.

Weather was quite warm today, though frequently overcast, and it felt quite humid.

I bought some cheese in a specialist cheese shop. That does rather tend to illuminate the cost of cheese. I usually buy pre-packed cheese in a supermarket. Based on what I paid today some cheese is a luxury item. I am surprised a specialist shop can survive.
