Otter valley

The day was forecast as warm, dry and cloudy as I set off to walk along the coast to Sidmouth with my sister.  I was glad I put some suntan cream on though as it quickly developed into a sunny day.  We had a very enjoyable walk along the coast path with clear views of the coastline and out to see.  I had forgotten just how hilly a walk it is but we took our time and arrived in time for our lunch on a bench overlooking the sea and Jacobs Ladder.

The Sidmouth Folk Festival is taking place this week and we stopped for a short while to watch a few musical events in Connaught Gardens.  We then wandered around the town joining in the festivities before meeting up with my husband who left a bit later than us as he had his Skype meeting with a friend earlier this morning.  We were hoping to get into a performance with two separate artists, which were more world music than folk.  The bands were called Mishra and Suntou Susso and we enjoyed them both.  We then caught a bus back home.  A great day out.

Todays blip is from the start of our walk before you get to White Bridge and shows part of the valley along the River Otter.
