Garmo Stave Church
We went to Maihaugen today, Norway’s biggest open-air museum in Lillehammer. It was created by Anders Sandvig a local dentist at the beginning of the 20th century. He was worried about old buildings disappearing, so he ‘collected’ old farms and other buildings. He had them transported to the current site where he managed to persuade people to rebuild them at minimal cost. Latterly there have been added buildings from most decades of the 20th century. The blip is of the Garmo Stave Church.
Best on black.
Today’s entry on the Abstract Fiesta journal is a reflection.
