Eccleshill United’s wall (blue) was ready as Emley AFC (yellow) prepared for a free kick. With their tallest players at the left end you can see which way they were expecting the kick to go.  Emley were already a couple of goals up by this time in their NCEL Premier League fixture, with their direct play and height advantage having an impact. 0-2 was the final score.

I’d more or less decided not to take in any mid-week football this week, but a snarl up with the trains on my way back from work meant that I was running late and had to detour to Bradford Interchange anyway so Eccleshill’s ground ended up being on the way home.
